Your presence on LinkedIn is a must. Not only a tool for networking, it provides interaction with groups of people with your same interests. It is also an excellent way to let people know what you are thinking and to show you as a thought leader in your field.
Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, et al.
You can use any of these channels to let people know who you are. It is important to remember that you project/protect your “brand.” Potential employers may look for you on any of these. Pictures of you with a beer bong (or any type of bong – see Michael Phelps’s adventure) could be career limiting.
Here’s a place to have some fun. You get to design your own business card. You will need these as you attend any events to exchange with people you meet. There are many inexpensive options and quick ways to get these.
